Destination Spetses

During the first week of May 2019, Helena will sail from Exeter bound for Spetses, an island off of the Greek Peloponnese. With a desirable weather window we will cross Biscay in one. Stopovers will depend upon weather and sea state at the time to include La Coruna in Galicia, the Rias and Lisbon. Further south, beyond the Portuguese border we will endeavour to pick up a mooring in the mouth of the River Guadalquivir beside the beautiful town of San Lucar de Barameda. We will victual for a few days in Gibraltar before heading west for the Balearics then onto southern Italy.
The final leg will round the southern Peloponnese, stopping off in Githion or the nearby island of Kithira. Then northeast, along the eastern flank of the Peloponnese to Spetses, which is a one hour ferry ride from Piraeus and Athens.
The voyage will require a minimum of four crew who will see out the entire trip or board for one or more of the legs. The entire journey is anticipated to take about one month.
