Description

Leaving Oban in Scotland 31st July or 1st Aug 2019. Sail to Barra, St Kilda, The Faroes, NE Iceland, Scorsebysund in Greenland if sea ice permits then Reykjavik and back to NE Scotland. Whole trip with breaks for relaxation in Greenland and Reykjavik could take five to six weeks. If you can only do some legs of the trip then beware this region is not the best for travel to and from. Financial contribution from crew is £15 per head per day on-board mainly to cover food costs. Shore eating and accommodation is at your expense as is your travel to and from the boat. We will not carry a gun to ward off or shoot polar bears but will have bear deterrents. Going ashore in Greenland must be done thoughtfully for 'bear' reasons. Non-smoking/non-vaping boat only. We sail dry of booze and for the night before an early start. All duties shared equally including cooking. This is a serious adventure for which we need sensible and experienced people - though with an easy manner.
