Description

Clifden, west Ireland, direct to East Greenland, then Iceland & back. May circumnavigate Iceland. July & August, early days Sept.

Fishing & foraging, walking, swimming ;-)

Boat - 39' LOD steel ketch, 17 ton, full keel, insulated, heated.

Have sailed Iceland 8x, East Greenland 2x. 25 days ice experience.

3 or 4 including myself.

Crew: Really most useful to be able to -
- solo tack, jibe, reef the main, handle hanked foresails, all in F4, on a 20 foot+ sailboat. This does not mean soloing - it indicates you have the basics.
- confidence walking the decks (many sailors are trained to be fearful & not leave the cockpit)
- rows with skill & power.
