Description
We require a mate for a well established Sail Training organisation (40 year history) to work on our classic Edwardian Yawl for the 2022 season.
Experience of larger sailing vessels essential and knowledge of traditional gaff rigged vessels is desirable.
The focus of the role is to support the Skipper with delivery of our sail training programme, ensuring the safe operation of the vessel and to assist in boat maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have an empathy with the youth of today and ideally have experience of working with young people as they will be expected to interact with trainees to instruct, encourage and motivate.
The successful candidate will need to be a team player with a positive attitude.
The successful candidate will hold or be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Salary negotiable depending on experience starting £22,000 pa pro rata. This is a full time position with an immediate start until November with scheduled leave periods.
