Professional Skipper July Aug 2022 through 2023

The owners bought Tara (2001 USA) in 2005. A refit concludes in Cornwall Aug 2022. Attend end of snagging, sea trials, fitting of new sails and prep for trip home to Dun Laoghaire. Cruising to either Madeira or the Canaries by Oct 2022 followed by a transatlantic passage, with at least two additional crew, to the Caribbean in January 2023. Cruising the North East coast of the US through Summer of 2023. Cruising is relaxed, watch keeping, navigation, cooking & housekeeping all shared. We seek an experienced compatible self-starter who can prepare the boat, liaise with the yard, plan the passages with us, be primary sailor on board, manage the boat systems, organise any running repairs & decommission Tara when needed. Suitable candidates will have an appropriate Yachtmaster qualification, first aid training & some mechanical experience, maintain ships log and cashbook. Ideally someone who might work with us for a number of years. Payments can be structured to suit the candidate.
