Mate-Sail Training Vessel

Currently inviting applications for the post of Mate on STV Vela (112ft) beginning in The British Virgin Islands in early June and sailing through to Rome via The Azores, Gibraltar, Tarragona, and Corsica. Responsibilities include on‐site support and supervision of all operational aspects of our Programs as they relate to vessel movements, technical support, and vessel maintenance. Other specific duties include but are not limited to supervision, general welfare, and safety of the students aboard, appropriate role-modeling for the students, and procurement of supplies and provisioning.
This is only part of the position as other duties include playing an active role in every aspect of life afloat. This will include mentoring the students, participation in scientific and scuba activities, cooking, and cleaning. Other duties will include organizing and supervising shoreside excursions.
