Currently inviting applications for the post of Mate on STV (112ft) beginning in Rome, in early September to commence a 2-year circumnavigational voyage.
The goal of this role would be to shadow the current Captain on board with a view to taking over the full-time Captain's role in 3 - 6 months' time when the skipper is due off rotation. Responsibilities include on‐site support and supervision of all operational aspects of our Programs as they relate to vessel movements, technical support, and vessel maintenance. Other specific duties include but are not limited to, supervision, general welfare, and safety of the students aboard, appropriate role-modeling for the students, and procurement of supplies and provisioning.
Other duties include playing an active role in every aspect of life afloat. This will include mentoring the Cadets, participation in scientific and scuba activities, cooking, cleaning etc.
