Sailing captain

The Tall Ship Providence Foundation is looking for a part-time captain for our 2024 sailing season.

We are a 60’ LOD 110’ LOA square tops’l gaff rigged sloop. Hull is fiberglass. USCG inspected vessel.

Tall Ship Providence is a visitor attraction based in Alexandria, Virginia; focus is living history – we provide a window into life aboard Providence between 1776 and 1779 and the people who were connected to it, both aboard and ashore. Our programs provide a link to our country’s rich maritime and naval history and the American Revolution. Founded in 2017, Tall Ship Providence Foundation (TSPF) is a 501c3 education organization that owns and manages Providence. The number of employees range from 5 in winter to 25 during peak season.

Seasonal position from late March through October with the opportunity for extended hours post-October. We do not have crew accommodations. Live aboard is not an option.
