Own-Boat Coaching, 44ft Ketch, Malaysia

First-time owners taking delivery of Windarra, a 44ft ketch at Pangkor, Malaysia.

We are looking for an experienced, ideally commercially endorsed skipper for a coastal delivery from Pangkor to Langkawi (around 130nm) from about July, run as own-boat coaching so the two of us build real competence along the way, not just gain miles.

We want hands-on training in boat handling, docking, anchoring, sail handling, safety, navigation and coastal passage planning, to the point where we can confidently skipper her ourselves.

There may also be a later offshore passage in SE Asia, which we would treat as a separate conversation.

We are a couple, both at the same starting level. Paid position. RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or equivalent preferred, ideally commercially endorsed, with a patient, safety-first teaching style and experience on cruising yachts and ketches.
